Custom Observation Hives:
Our custom observation hives can be created in three different forms. The observation hive can be entirely outdoors, on the outer wall or window of a building so that half of the hive is inside while the other is outdoors, or entirely inside. The range from 3 to 6 feet in height and includes a heating/cooling element to regulate the temperature of the hive when needed. The hive also includes a hidden compartment to store additional sugar water for the bees to use as food. The hive is comprised of multiple cassettes that are entirely removable to allow the beekeeper to safely manipulate the hive from a secure location.
When a Bee Downtown Observation Hive is purchased a company receives the entire Bee Downtown package. This includes 1 custom observation hive, 2 custom painted rooftop hives, 1 beekeeper to maintain the hives, 1 beekeeping class for all interested employees, bottled honey from the company's rooftop hives (on average 240 bear jars of honey will be bottled), educational materials about the importance of honey bees, and professional photographs of the hive taken.
